ashley + chris

We had such a fantastic time with Ashley and Chris and what a sweet day it was…  The weather was perfect and Ashley and Chris chose great wedding vendors for their day.  This made planning from Florida much easier.

The day was planned beautifully with the ladies from Shay Brown Events.  Lissa and company from Flora Event and Floral Design designed the gorgeous arrangements. Scott Thompson did a beautiful job with the makeup. And the stage was set beside Lake Toxaway for an amazing event…

Wow! The photos came out beautiful! I had the pleasure of directing the wedding of Ashley and Chris. What a gorgeous day it turned out to be (the little gnats even went away and a breeze pulled through for us like magic)! Great work! Thanks for sharing!

10 models, over 20 dresses, 7 locations, 8 hours… Priceless… We had a great time a couple of weeks ago with everyone at the wedding festivals fashion shoot. Everyone did such a fantastic job with all of the beautiful themes, flowers, dresses, invitations, etc. One of the themes was Wünderland, giving homage to Lewis Carol’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
So join us down the rabbit hole and enjoy a few images from this fantastic shoot…

On Saturday, we spent the day with Sara and Armin on Kiawah Island. They had a beautiful beach wedding with a reception at the Sand Castle. Although we hadn’t met before their wedding day; it feel like we’ve been friends with Sara and Armin for a long time… Here are a few images from their day…

We really enjoyed our time with Brandon and Mary last weekend in Greensboro, NC.  Brandon is a photographer in DC and we actually met Mary at a wedding we shot a couple of years ago.  You can check out Brandon’s work at http://bwuphoto.com .  Be sure to take a look at the “live music” and “band promos” in Brandon’s portfolio.  Here are a few images from this beautiful day!

We were so excited to see Sarah and Justin’s wedding featured in the Wall Street Journal a couple of weeks ago. They ran a story on camp weddings and there on the front page, above the fold, was a shot of Sarah and Justin! Here is the story in the Wall Street Journal’s online paper

We’ve had work in magazines and other publications, but honestly, it was pretty cool seeing a few images in the Journal…

We love keeping in touch with our couples and this was such a fun shoot. We were blessed to photograph Jesse Rose and Lance’s wedding a few years ago. It was great meeting Lincoln and getting some shots of this cute little guy. Here are a few images from the shoot…

What a great day for a wedding! We really enjoyed getting to know Bryan and Diana and their families. Communication was fun with Diana’s parents…lots of smiles and thumbs up. I know they loved having them here from Russia. It was so neat to see the two cultures come together for a fantastic day. The reception at the Providence Country Club was an elegant event.

Last weekend, we had the pleasure of covering Ally and Adam’s wedding at Middleton Place in Charleston, SC. Sunday morning, we walked the estate and happened upon Doug showing traditional craftsmen building techniques. Doug immediately began describing his craft and the different tools needed to produce wooden vessels, barrels, etc., but one thing struck me. In spite of the insane heat and humidity and the dusty old shed, Doug loves what he does! So much so, he has been at Middleton Place for over 16 years.

With the rush of everyday life, it is easy to fall into a pattern of the mundane. To work without enjoyment, to live without life… This encounter was yet another reminder to pursue what you enjoy and it will never be work. I do love my job!

Find a job you love and you’ll never work a day in your life. ~Confuscious
