Ok, so we had a maternity or pregnancy or belly shoot yesterday and we realized we’re not sure what to call them. Most photographers will call these shoots “maternity shoot” or “pregnancy shoot”, but we want to be a little different.

So CALLING ALL CREATIVE PEOPLE, WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!

We are looking for a cool and creative name for these shoots.. We really want it to be different from what’s out there, because we these shoots are– well, different. So post any and all ideas.. There are no dumb ideas, just dumb people… no wait, that’s not it… there are no dumb ideas, just some smarter than others… no.. anyway, inspire us!!

Friday, we had the pleasure of hangin’ out with Julia and Constantine in Charlotte. They are a really cool couple that are tying the knot next month. We aren’t able to cover their wedding, but were excited to have the opportunity to shoot their engagements. You can tell from the shots… they aren’t photogenic at all

Congratulations to you guys! You make an awesome couple and we look forward to getting together sometime soon.

We are very excited to announce that we have a new member of the VISIO team. Elise has just joined us as our studio manager. Elise is the friendly voice you may hear when calling the studio. She is graduating next month from Montreat College. Elise has been studying environmental sciences and has a great interest in photography (particularly nature and landscape). She is already a great addition to the team and we are very blessed to have her here. So if you’re reading this, pick up the phone, give us a call, and be sure to tell Elise “hello”!

We are excited for Jesse Rose and Lance who were chosen by Weddings Unveiled Magazine for a feature in their current Spring issue. Jesse Rose and Lance were wed at the family vineyard, a gorgeous backdrop for a fairy-tale wedding… Rhonda Houck, with Dreammakers coordinated the event. Ok, not really the Indy 500… I just couldn’t think of any other cool taglines for Indianapolis.

We had a blast with Carrie and Jordan for an engagement session this past weekend. They were troopers as it was about 38 degrees and raining. We went to the Indianapolis Zoo, where they will be married in the arboretum later this summer. We are really looking forward to the wedding. We love the Kinnamans and Clarks!

We flew in from Phoenix to Orlando and had the pleasure of covering a vow renewal for Marc and Colleen. They are some great friends also in the wedding industry. We had a couple of days cruise before landing in Nassau for the wedding. Colleen planned everything to a “t” and it was a gorgeous day. Congratulations for 17 years of marriage!!!

The conference was fantastic. We got a lot of ideas and were challenged, particularly in the are of business and marketing, two of our weaknesses. It was great seeing old friends and meeting new ones. It was great running into John and his wife. As well, it’s always great to see Scott Kouns. We definitely will have to get out to California sometime before too long. It was also so nice to meet and spend some time with Melanie Mauer, a very gifted photographer out of Kentucky.

The photography we saw inspired us, the seminars challenged us, but the best part was getting time with fabulous people..

Ok, so a while back I told you about some amazing chocolate. When we were in one of the shopping malls, we came across the Vosges boutique–a chocolate lover’s dream. This decor was minimalist, the atmosphere was like a very upscale cafe or even jewelry store, but the chocolate was what we were there for.

So we arrived in Vegas a little early and met up with some friends that we had met last year. Shannon and Steve of Shannon Ho Photography are an awesome couple with a real gift for photography. We were planning on just coffee, but ended up spending most of the week together! We enjoyed every minute of it..

As well, we got some time with an old friend (and I mean OLD…) Mae. Mae is a lot of fun to be around because we share a similar sense of humor (corny with an edge of sarcasm..) It was great getting some time together and as well seeing Michael again and meeting the family–

Ok, ok, no more harassing emails, I know it’s been a month since our last post It has been a busy month, traveling to Atlanta, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Orlando, Nassau, Bahamas, and Indianapolis. We’ve actually been away more than we’ve been home.. BUT, it has been a blast and we’ve had the opportunity to visit some great places with some amazing people.

About a month ago, we headed to Phoenix to introduce Em to her new cousin. Jen and I decided to drive to Vegas for WPPI, the biggest photography conference we attend each year. We had a great drive up and a great visit.

This was the view pretty much the whole way to Vegas–I’ve heard this stretch of road is really scenic.. who knows
